Rashon M. Howard, MSFP, AFC ®

Recognized among the top 10 emerging financial advisers in the country, Mr. Howard finds constant inspiration in helping his clients build generational wealth. After eight successful years with Citizens Financial Group, he joined 1847Financial in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, in 2018 as a financial adviser. A premier investment firm, 1847Financial assists individuals and business owners in prioritizing their financial futures by offering expertise in estate, retirement, business, risk management and business succession planning.

 

An experienced financial services professional, Mr. Howard serves his clients by helping them to identify and understand their financial goals and ensures that they are attainable. Specializing in such areas as wealth preservation, wealth transfer, college planning and retirement planning, he is passionate about his profession and making a difference in his clients' lives. In addition to working closely with clients, Mr. Howard invests a lot of his time motivating and providing leadership and mentorship to his team members.

Outside of his main career path, Mr. Howard is the founder of The Reach Up Foundation: The Shon Experience, since 2018. A nonprofit organization, Reach Up offers workshops, speaking engagements and seminars to clients with a mission of establishing community growth. Since its founding, Mr. Howard has notably raised over $17,000 in scholarship funds to support at-risk community high school students in their college and business pursuits.

Known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Howard is active as a member of the Young Professionals Council and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. He serves as a mentor and coach for children and young adults by participating in speaking engagements at area elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities. Additionally, Mr. Howard has become active with the Commission on Racial Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, the Atlantic 10 Conference and as a member of the alumni board of directors at his alma mater, La Salle University.

 

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Howard received a Bachelor of Science in accounting at La Salle University in 2010, followed by a Master of Science in financial planning at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2020. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include certification as an accredited financial counselor, licensing in insurance and licensing as a Series 6, Series 63, Series 66 and Series 7 representative.

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Mr. Howard is a professional member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education and FINSECA. Mr. Howard also served as the 47th president of the Nu Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. from 2020-2022.

 

To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Howard was included in the Philadelphia Business Journal's 2022 Influencers Collection. The journal previously named the Diversity Leaders in Business Awardee in 2021. In the same year the Philadelphia Tribune named him among the Most Influential African Americans in 2021 and Additionally, Mr. Howard was recognized as the Emerging Advisor of the Year by 1847Financial in 2020 and as a Greater Philadelphia Rising Star by NAIFA in 2020.

Reconigzed by Marquise Who 's Who in American in 2022, Rashon considers his biggest accomplishment, becoming an active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. where he served as the 47th President of the Nu Sigma Chapter (Philadelphia Graduate Chapter) from 2020-2022. Playing an essential role in mentoring the next generation of new members behind him. He truly believes in the concept of “paying it forward” as not only a mantra but a personal value.
